Poetry Slam

Seven poets will get a chance to compete in front of our judges for a chance to win a $250 cash prize.  There is a $20 entry fee (entry fee may be waived; inquire below to find out how!

Judging criteria is as followed:

Physical presence - Demand the room and hold the audience's attention.  Be poised and confident.

Poem Mastery - The recitation should be fluid and easy to understand.

Voice and Articulation - The auditory nature of your recitation. Enunciation, pronunciation , appropriate pauses and changes in tone will be judged.  Say it with your chest! 

Content - Creativity and originality is key.  Complexity and sophisticated ideas are huge pluses. 

Crowd Appeal - How will you leave the crowd feeling after your recitation?  We will observe the applauds of the crowd so bring your fan base with you!

Open Mic (Calling all singers, musicians, poets, etc.)
